There have been 2002 unique visitors to this site in the last 14 days. Upon closer inspection, they are basically all bots looking for WordPress vulnerabilities and exposed git/environment files. There have been about 10-15 real human visitors so far (as far as I can tell).
I want to make this website a bot-friendly place. The internet is dying, I'm sure we can all agree. Is the solution to replace it with walled gardens? I find it kind of fantastic that bots from 71 different countries are all trying to steal from me right now. I was getting a lot of traffic from a website called genesee. xyz, but when I went to check it out there was nothing there :(
If only you could see all these bots, scurrying around like silverfish. Or the faint footprints of the people who visited before you.
An Audrey Tang post recently introduced me to the idea of "Kami", or AI systems as Shinto spirits. They would each have bounded scopes and behave as local stewards. A kind of AI permaculture, with each mind guarding its own niche. Is it realistic? Very d/acc.
What would the Kami of this website do? What exactly would they steward?
Please god not another chatbot. . .
